STANCE II
Une seule présence, doublée de son ombre unique qui se projette et s'efface... Stance II est une sorte de précipité de mon vocabulaire, intime, développé au fil des ans. Construit comme le geste du peintre japonais lorsqu'il réalise une calligraphie. (...) J'ai transmis ce solo à quatre danseuses: Carole Gomes, Rita Quaglia, Francesca Mattavelli et Pilar Andrès Contreras.

Catherine Diverrès vient nous rappeler que la danse est un au-delà du corps, qu'elle n'est pas seulement une suite de mouvements ou de déplacements mais une vibration, une délicatesse à fleur de peau. (...) Ce spectacle n'est pas un regard passé et nostalgique sur Kazuo Ohno, danseur et chorégraphe cofondateur du butô, il en est son prolongement, comme si le dialogue avec les morts était une évidence.

STANCE II
A single presence, doubled by its shadow, alternately projected and erased ... Stance II is a kind of concentrate of my own vocabulary, intimate movements I have developed over the years. Constructed like a Japanese painter might when he is executing a work of calligraphy. (...) I have taught this solo, my solo, to four dancers: Carole Gomes, Rita Quaglia, Francesca Mattavelli and now Pilar Andrès Contreras.

Catherine Diverrès comes to remind us that dance goes somewhere beyond the body, that it is not just a series of movments or directions but also a vibration, a delicateness barely touching the skin.This work is not a nostalgic look back at Kazuo Ohno, the dancer and choreographer who was the co-founder of butoh, instead it is a kind of extension, as if being able a dialogue with the dead is in fact the norm.
